Goodbye Letter 2020

Band Family,

I am blessed with the best job on the planet. In part, it’s because I work for a great administration. It’s also due in part to my awesome colleagues. Mostly, it’s because I get to come to work everyday to make great music with you. The things we accomplished together were just short of magical, and, although I don’t always come across this way, I treasure our time together. Even after 20 years I still love coming to work, and I still love working with kids like you. You guys make it great, and I am sad that our work this year was cut short.

It brings me a little comfort that the last thing we did was play together- all grades together- in a pep rally. We literally walked out the door at the end of day after making music together. I hate that we didn’t get to perform the concert music we worked so diligently on, but the lessons we learned and the progress we made are long lasting.

For our 6th and 7th grade fam, I look forward to the time when we can get together again. Keep up the solid work until then! For our 8th grade family, I will miss seeing all of you every day. Enjoy your time on the hill, and cherish every day. If this experience teaches us anything it’s that you never know what tomorrow brings.

If any of you need anything ever, feel free to contact me. Love you guys! I miss your faces!

Class dismissed.
