End of the Year Info

If you come in on May 14/15 for locker clean out, I would love to see you!

6th and 7th grade students should all hang on to their instruments for the summer. Practice it a little from time to time. Do not turn them in unless you are changing schools/districts. If that change happens over the summer, please turn it in when you fill out your paperwork to transfer. If you don't want to continue band next year we will talk about that next school year. If you have something that needs to be repaired call Bandwagon Music at (615) 721-2263 and see if you can drop it off.

7th grade students: As the DCHS band solidifies its members, they may be in need of some additional help for its Marching Band. Be on the lookout for an invite if they need some additional personnel.

8th grade students using school owned instruments: If you are continuing band at DCHS, hang on to them- we will trade them out for DCHS instruments at our first rehearsal. If you are not continuing you should turn it in May 14/15.

8th grade students renting instruments from Bandwagon: If you want to turn them in you need to make arrangements with the store to do so. They are currently not open for regular business but if you want to contact them at (615) 721-2263 they will make arrangements to meet you. For what it is worth, the pay off the instrument should be low at this point. Turning it in means a total loss of what you have paid into it. I would pay it off and sell it if I did not want to keep it.

8th grade students going on to DCHS band and your parents: There will be information coming out about summer band stuff as soon as we have something to share. Info right now is speculative at best. Make sure you are signed up on their remind if you are not already. Text @dchsmb2 to 81010 to sign up. FYI- there are two reminds for the DCHS band. They both send the same information. If you are already signed up you do not need to sign up again. There is however a separate one for the Band Booster club.

8th grade students undecided about high school band: At some point over the summer there will be a meeting about how high school band will work post-Corona virus. It may be less “marching band heavy” depending on how football season works out. I will let you know when this meeting will be so you can make an informed decision.

Have a great summer everyone! Stay Healthy!
